Burn Subtitles into Video Online (SRT, VTT, ASS)
Burn subtitles into a video for free: hardcode an SRT, VTT or ASS file so the captions show on every platform, with size, position and colour controls, without uploading either file.
Burn Subtitles into Video Online (SRT, VTT, ASS): TOEA burns an SRT, VTT or ASS subtitle file into the video picture, so the captions stay visible when you share it on social media or in a messaging app. Choose text size, top or bottom position, text and outline colours, and an optional dark box. The video is re-encoded with its sound. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Hard subtitles for social sharing
Burned-in, or hard, subtitles are part of the video picture. Viewers cannot turn them off, and no separate caption file is needed. They are useful for social posts or messaging apps where you want words to stay visible with the sound off.
Soft subtitles remain separate from the picture, as a sidecar file or selectable track. A compatible player can hide them or offer another language. Keep the original video and subtitle file so you can change the wording, language or style later.
Files, style and export
Choose an SRT, VTT, ASS or SSA file, or paste the text. The tool keeps cue timings and line breaks but removes file styling. Set the text size as a percentage of video height, choose top or bottom position, pick text and outline colours, and turn on a dark box if the footage needs more contrast. It does not reproduce ASS fonts, karaoke effects or precise cue positions.
Finish resizing and cropping before burning in captions, then check the first and last cues for timing and readability. The picture is re-encoded with sound into MP4 if the browser can record it, otherwise WebM.
How to use it
- Choose the video and the subtitle file, or paste the subtitle text.
- Set the size, position, and colours; the preview shows the style.
- Encode and download the subtitled video.
Privacy & limitations
The video is read straight from your device and never uploaded. Everything — decoding, resizing, and encoding — happens in this browser tab, so large files are limited by your own memory rather than an upload queue. Encoding runs at playback speed because the browser records the video as it plays, so a two-minute clip takes about two minutes and the tab must stay in front.

Frequently asked questions
What are hard and soft subtitles?
Hard subtitles are painted into the video frames and cannot be switched off. Soft subtitles are a separate file or selectable track that a compatible player can hide or change. Use burn-in when captions must stay visible on social media; keep the original and subtitle file for later edits.
Which subtitle files and styles are supported?
You can choose SRT, WebVTT (.vtt), ASS or SSA files, or paste their text. Timings and line breaks are read, but file styling and positioning are removed. The size, top or bottom position, text colour, outline colour and dark-box controls here apply to every cue.
What format is the subtitled video?
MP4 where your browser can record it, otherwise WebM. Sound is kept, and the picture is re-encoded as the video plays. Correct subtitle timing and finish cropping or resizing before burning in the text.
