Subtitle Splitter
Cut a subtitle file in two at a timestamp, with the second half rebased to start from zero.
Subtitle Splitter: TOEA divides the track at the timestamp you give and, for the second half, subtracts that time from every cue so it lines up with a video that also starts at zero. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Getting the split point exact
Enter the split in seconds, with decimals if needed: one hour, twelve minutes, and 30.5 seconds is 4350.5. When the video was cut with a trimming tool, use the exact time of the cut, which the video info tool reports as the first part's duration. A split even half a second off makes every line in the second part early or late by the same amount.
Cues at the cut
A line that is on screen when the video is cut stays in the first part, where it may run on past that file's end. Players simply stop showing it, but if the line matters to the second part too, copy it by hand into the start of the second file with a start time of zero.
If the second part plays with every line a fixed amount early or late, adjust it with the timing shifter; to reverse the job, the subtitle merger joins two tracks again.
How to use it
- Paste or choose a subtitle file.
- Set the second to split at and which half to keep.
- Download that half.
Privacy & limitations
The file is read and rewritten in your browser and never uploaded. A cue that straddles the split stays with the half it starts in rather than being duplicated.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the second half rebased?
It will accompany a second video file that starts at zero. Keeping the original timings would leave every cue an hour late.
What happens to a cue crossing the split?
It stays with the half it starts in. Duplicating it would show the line twice, and dropping it would lose a line of dialogue.
How do I get both halves?
Run it twice at the same timestamp, switching which half to keep, and download each.
Where should I split?
At the exact runtime of the first video file, which is the point the second one begins.
