By Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 6 of 2016: after 12 months or more of continuous work, one month's wages; from one month, the months worked ÷ 12 × one month's wages. Wages are basic pay plus fixed allowances. Employers may pay more under a contract or company rules.
Counting the months
Service is counted in whole months up to the holiday, from the day work began. Someone who started on 15 June has 8 whole months by 10 March; with a 6,000,000 rupiah monthly wage, the THR is 8 ÷ 12 × 6,000,000 = 4,000,000 rupiah.

Permanent workers whose employment ends within 30 days before the holiday are still entitled to THR. Workers on fixed-term contracts that end before the holiday are not, under the 2016 regulation.

Frequently asked questions
Is THR only for Eid al-Fitr?
THR is paid once a year for the worker's own religious holiday: Eid al-Fitr for Muslims, Christmas for Christians, Nyepi for Hindus, Vesak for Buddhists, and Chinese New Year for Confucians, unless the work agreement says otherwise.
Do contract and probation workers get THR?
Yes: the regulation covers workers on permanent and fixed-term contracts alike, from one month of service.
What if my employer pays late?
Late payment carries a 5% fine for the employer, and the THR is still owed. You can report it to the Ministry of Manpower's THR complaint post (Posko THR) or your local labour office.
