Sign PDF

Draw, type, or upload your signature and place it on a PDF, with your name, initials, the date, or a check mark, without uploading the document.

Sign PDF: TOEA shows every page, lets you place and size each item on it, and then draws the items into the document as images at exactly the spot you chose, on the page as it is displayed, even when a page is stored turned sideways. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

A signature that looks right on paper

A drawn signature reads best at about the height of two lines of text, so the tool places one at roughly 40 points tall, a little over 1.4 cm; drag the corner to match the space on the line. Blue ink is a common way to show that a printout carries an original signature rather than a copy, and some offices ask for it. For an uploaded photo, sign on plain white paper in a dark pen and photograph it flat in good light: the tool removes everything lighter than the ink, so shadows and grey paper can leave a smudge behind.

Everything you place is drawn into the page as a picture. Text added this way looks like typing but cannot be selected or searched, which also means it prints and displays the same in every viewer, in any script.

Documents that already carry a digital signature

A certificate-based digital signature covers the exact bytes of the file, and saving a signed copy here rewrites the file, so a digital signature already in the document will show as invalid afterwards. When a document has to be signed digitally by several people, use the signing service it came from. When you also need to fill in typed form fields, fill them first, flatten the form, and sign last.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Draw your signature, type your name, or upload a photo of it; add any text, the date, or a check mark.
  3. Click a page to place each item, drag it into position, then sign and save the PDF.

Privacy & limitations

The file is opened and rewritten in your browser and never uploaded, which is the point when the document is a contract, a scan, or anything else you would not hand to a stranger. Your signature is never stored: it exists in this tab until you close it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a legally binding signature?

It is an electronic signature in the everyday sense: an image of your signature on the page, like signing a printout and scanning it. Many everyday documents are signed this way, but whether it is enough depends on the document, the other party, and the law where you are. Check when it matters.

Is it a digital signature with a certificate?

No. A certificate-based digital signature proves who signed and that nothing changed afterwards, and needs a certificate issued to you. This tool does not add one, and the saved file does not claim to have one.

Can the signature be removed or copied from the file?

It is an image drawn on the page, so someone with a PDF editor could move or copy it, as they could with a scanned signature. Send the signed file only to the people it is meant for.

Can I fill in a form with it?

Yes, for forms you would otherwise print: add your name, the date, and check marks as text and place them on the lines and boxes. Fields you can already type into are left as they are; to make typed-in answers permanent, flatten the form afterwards.

How do I put my initials on every page?

Add your initials as text, place them on one page, and choose Copy to every page. Each copy can then be moved on its own page.
