Document formats

Office Open XML defines DOCX and XLSX packaging, relationships, text and worksheets. The ECMA-376 catalogue (https://ecma-international.org/publications-and-standards/standards/ecma-376/) describes the format family. PDF page content is specified by ISO 32000; the ISO catalogue (https://www.iso.org/standard/75839.html) identifies the standard. These conversions rebuild useful content rather than guaranteeing an identical layout.

Conversion libraries

PDF creation uses pdf-lib (MIT; https://pdf-lib.js.org/docs/api/), and PDF reading and rendering use PDF.js (Apache 2.0; https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/). Both run locally in this tool. No document upload is required.

  3. Check each page, undo or delete mistakes, then save and download the edited PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does whiteout remove confidential text?

No. A white rectangle covers the text visually but the underlying content remains recoverable. Use Redact PDF when you need content removed.

Can I change the original text?

You can add selectable text over the page, but cannot replace or reflow original paragraphs. Text that exceeds a box’s height is clipped; enlarge the box before saving. Standard fonts support Western European Latin text.

Can I add a signature on a phone?

Yes. Draw freehand ink with a finger or add a PNG/JPEG signature stamp. The optional white-paper removal helps scanned signatures. This is a visual signature, not a certificate-based digital signature.
