Camera Recorder
Record a video of yourself from the webcam in the browser, with a touch-up, a styled backdrop, a countdown, pause, and trimming.
Camera Recorder: TOEA records the camera on your device with the browser's own encoder. Every frame can be passed through a light touch-up and set on a backdrop with rounded corners before it is encoded, and the finished recording can be trimmed. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Light and framing
Light matters more than the camera. Face a window or a lamp rather than sitting with one behind you, which turns your face into a silhouette; overhead light alone casts shadows under the eyes. Raise the laptop so the lens is at eye level, and leave a little space above your head with your eyes about a third of the way down the frame. The recording asks for 1080p, but many built-in webcams deliver 720p. The webcam test shows what yours actually provides.
Looking at the lens
Viewers feel spoken to when you look at the lens, not at your own image on screen. If you read from the teleprompter, make its window narrow and place it directly under the camera, so your eyes move only a little from the lens as you read. A slow scroll speed avoids the side-to-side eye movement that gives reading away.
Sound carries a talking-head video. A headset or clip-on microphone close to the mouth beats a laptop's built-in one in almost any room.
How to use it
- Start the camera and check the picture; pick a touch-up and a backdrop if you like.
- Start recording after the countdown; pause if you need to.
- Stop, trim the ends, and download.

Frequently asked questions
What is this for?
Video messages, quick updates for a team, course intros, or a talking-head clip to cut into a screen recording. It is the camera-only half of the Screen Recorder.
Why is the picture not mirrored?
Recordings are for other people, who should see you the right way round. Text on a shirt or a whiteboard behind you reads correctly.
What does the touch-up do?
Brightness, warmth, soft skin, and a vignette, applied to every frame as it is recorded. It is a light grade, not face reshaping. Natural is a plain recording.
Can I read from a script?
Open the Teleprompter in another window or on a second screen; the two work side by side.
