Teleprompter
Scroll your script at a steady pace, in large type, full screen, mirrored if you need it, while you read to the camera.
Teleprompter: TOEA scrolls the text upwards at a constant speed behind a reading band, saving the script in your browser so it is there next time. Everything is keyboard-driven so you never have to look for a control. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

70 words · about 28 seconds at a speaking pace. Click the prompter, then Space plays or pauses, ↑ and ↓ change the speed, R goes back to the top, F toggles full screen. The script is kept in this browser for next time.
Writing a script to be read aloud
Write as you speak: short sentences, one idea each, and contractions. Spell out anything you might stumble over, such as numbers, abbreviations, and names, the way you will say them: "twenty twenty-six" rather than 2026. A blank line between paragraphs gives a natural place to breathe, and a note in brackets, such as [pause] or [show product], reminds you of an action without being read out.
Placing the text near the lens
Viewers notice your eyes moving away from the camera. Keep the reading band as close to the lens as possible: with a webcam at the top of a laptop, use a narrow browser window placed just under the camera rather than the full screen, and sit farther back so the eye movement is smaller. Larger text lets you sit farther away. For a phone or camera on a stand, a mirrored screen behind a beam-splitter glass puts the words directly in front of the lens. If the camera recorder runs on the same screen, keep its preview small and away from the script.
How to use it
- Paste the script.
- Set the speed and text size, and go full screen.
- Press Space to start; ↑ and ↓ adjust the speed as you read.

Frequently asked questions
What speed should I use?
Start around 60 pixels per second at 44px text and adjust with the arrow keys while reading; most people settle between 50 and 90. The word count above gives the rough reading time at 150 words a minute.
What is mirror for?
Beam-splitter teleprompter rigs reflect the screen in a piece of glass in front of the lens, which flips the text. Mirror flips it back.
Can I use it alongside the Screen Recorder or Camera Recorder?
Yes. Open this in one window and the recorder in another, or on a second screen. The script is saved, so the window can be closed and reopened.
Why does it stop at the end?
Scrolling stops when the last line reaches the band. Press R to go back to the top for another take.
