Screen Recorder
Record a tab, a window, or your whole screen in your browser, with your camera in a corner, a styled backdrop, a countdown, pause, trimming, and a GIF if you want one.
Screen Recorder: TOEA asks the browser to share a screen, window, or tab and records it on your device with the browser's own encoder. Every frame can be composed with a backdrop, rounded corners, and a shadow, and with your camera in a corner, before it is encoded. It can sample the stream at a low frame rate at the same time for a GIF, and re-encode the finished recording to trim its ends. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Runs entirely in your browser
The browser asks what to share: a tab, a window, or the whole screen. Recording happens on your device; nothing is uploaded. Ten minutes at most per recording.
Before you press record
Sharing a whole screen captures everything on it, including notification banners with message previews. Turn on Do Not Disturb or Focus before a long recording, close unrelated tabs and windows, and hide the bookmarks bar if it shows anything personal. Sharing a single tab avoids most of this, since only that tab's content is captured.
Recordings stop at ten minutes, so plan a longer walkthrough as several takes split at natural breaks, such as one per task or screen.
Making text readable in the result
A high-density laptop screen shared whole is recorded at its physical pixels, often 2560 or more wide, and scaled down to 1080p or 720p when uploaded or compressed. Interface text then shrinks to half size or less. Zooming the browser or app to 125–150% before recording, or sharing a smaller window, keeps code, menus, and labels legible to someone watching on a laptop or phone.
How to use it
- Choose audio, camera, backdrop, and GIF options; the preview shows the styling.
- Start, pick the tab, window, or screen in the browser's prompt, and record after the countdown. Pause if you need to.
- Stop, trim the start and end if needed, then download the recording.
Privacy & limitations
The recording is made and kept on your device; nothing is uploaded. Sharing stops the moment you stop recording. Ten minutes at most per recording.

Frequently asked questions
Which format do I get?
MP4 where the browser can write it, which current Chrome and Safari can, and WebM otherwise. Both play in any modern player; convert with the video tools here if you need the other.
Why is there no sound?
System audio is offered only for some sources: Chrome provides it for a tab, and for the whole screen on Windows. For narration, tick the microphone option; it is mixed into the same track.
How long can the GIF be?
It keeps the first 150 frames, so 30 seconds at 5 fps or 15 at 10. The video recording carries on past that. Keep the GIF width modest; 480 pixels is plenty for a demo.
Does the recording include the browser's sharing bar?
No. The bar is drawn by the browser above the page and is not part of what is shared. The cursor is included when you share a screen or window, and left out for a tab.
How does the camera picture work?
Your camera is composed onto each frame of the screen picture before it is encoded, so it is part of the video rather than a separate track. In Chrome and Edge this runs in a background worker and keeps going while you work in another window; other browsers compose on the page and need this tab kept visible.
Can I move the camera picture during the recording?
Yes. Corner, shape, size, ring, and mirroring all take effect immediately, so you can move it out of the way of something on screen. The backdrop's colour, corners, and shadow can change too; only its margin is fixed once recording starts, because it sets the output size.
What does the backdrop do to the output size?
The recording becomes a 16:9 picture large enough to hold the screen at full size inside the margin, so nothing is scaled down. A 1920 × 1080 screen with a 6% margin gives a 2182 × 1228 file.
Why is there no system audio on my Mac?
Chrome on macOS can capture sound only from a browser tab, not from a window or the whole screen; that is a platform limit, not a setting. Pick a tab, or record narration through the microphone.
How does trimming work?
The finished recording is played back and re-encoded between the two times you set, so it takes as long as the part you keep. The start defaults to 1.5 seconds in, which usually removes the switch to the window you were recording.
Does pausing leave a gap in the video?
No. The recorder stops writing while paused and continues seamlessly on resume; the timer shows recorded time only.
