Triadic Color Generator
Generate two evenly spaced companions on an HSL color wheel.
Triadic Color Generator: TOEA applies this fixed formula: Companions = base hue + 120° and + 240°. Color math runs locally in your browser. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Companions = base hue + 120° and + 240°- Results are deterministic sRGB mathematical transformations; display appearance depends on your monitor and color profile.
- HEX input accepts #RGB or #RRGGBB notation. Values stay in your browser and are not uploaded.
Balancing three strong hues
Three hues spaced evenly around the wheel all compete for attention at the same saturation. The usual approach is to let one dominate, use the second for supporting areas, and keep the third for small accents, often described as a 60-30-10 split. Starting from pure red gives the screen primaries red, green, and blue; muted or darker bases give more usable sets than bright ones.
Same lightness on paper, not to the eye
The two companions share the base's HSL lightness value, but the eye does not see them as equally light: greens and yellows look much brighter than blues and violets with the same number. A triad can therefore look unbalanced even though the math is symmetrical. Run each color through the grayscale converter to see their real brightness, then adjust with tints or shades until the set feels even.
How to use it
- Enter valid #RGB or #RRGGBB values and any requested percentage.
- Run the fixed browser-local color operation.
- Review the swatches and copy the result or palette values.
Privacy & limitations
Color values stay on this device. Contrast output is a mathematical checker, not a blanket WCAG compliance guarantee; context, font rendering, non-text contrast, and user interface states still need review.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Triadic Palette work?
It uses Companions = base hue + 120° and + 240°.
Which HEX formats are accepted?
Use three-digit #RGB or six-digit #RRGGBB sRGB notation. Alpha channels and named colors are not accepted.
Does the contrast result guarantee accessibility compliance?
No. It is a mathematical contrast checker for the reported colors and text thresholds, not a blanket compliance guarantee.
