Analogous Color Generator
Generate neighboring hues 30 degrees to either side of a base color.
Analogous Color Generator: TOEA applies this fixed formula: Neighbors = base hue − 30° and + 30°. Color math runs locally in your browser. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Neighbors = base hue − 30° and + 30°- Results are deterministic sRGB mathematical transformations; display appearance depends on your monitor and color profile.
- HEX input accepts #RGB or #RRGGBB notation. Values stay in your browser and are not uploaded.
Giving neighbors some contrast
Analogous colors sit close together and share the base's saturation and lightness, so they blend smoothly and suit gradients, backgrounds, and illustrations. That same closeness means they cannot separate text from its background or mark what is clickable. Vary the lightness of one color for text and surfaces, and bring in a contrasting accent, for example the base's opposite from the complementary color generator, for buttons and highlights.
Thirty degrees is not always the same step
HSL spreads hues unevenly for the eye. Between red at 0°, orange at 30°, and yellow at 60°, each 30° step lands on a color with a different name, while the range from about 90° to 150° is all greens, so an analogous set built on a green can look almost identical. A red base also wraps around the wheel, giving a pink near 330° on one side and orange on the other.
How to use it
- Enter valid #RGB or #RRGGBB values and any requested percentage.
- Run the fixed browser-local color operation.
- Review the swatches and copy the result or palette values.
Privacy & limitations
Color values stay on this device. Contrast output is a mathematical checker, not a blanket WCAG compliance guarantee; context, font rendering, non-text contrast, and user interface states still need review.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Analogous Palette work?
It uses Neighbors = base hue − 30° and + 30°.
Which HEX formats are accepted?
Use three-digit #RGB or six-digit #RRGGBB sRGB notation. Alpha channels and named colors are not accepted.
Does the contrast result guarantee accessibility compliance?
No. It is a mathematical contrast checker for the reported colors and text thresholds, not a blanket compliance guarantee.
