Color Tint Generator
Lighten a color by mixing it with white.
Color Tint Generator: TOEA applies this fixed formula: Tint = color × (1 − amount) + white × amount. Color math runs locally in your browser. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Tinted HEX
#5C8AF0
- Tinted RGB
- rgb(92, 138, 240)
Tint = color × (1 − amount) + white × amount- Results are deterministic sRGB mathematical transformations; display appearance depends on your monitor and color profile.
- HEX input accepts #RGB or #RRGGBB notation. Values stay in your browser and are not uploaded.
Building a light scale
Design systems often derive their lighter steps by mixing with white; Bootstrap's tint-color() works this way. Tints around 80–95% white make backgrounds for alerts, selected rows, and badges, while 20–40% gives a softer version of the brand color for hover fills and illustrations. Generate each step from the original base rather than tinting a tint, so the percentages stay meaningful, and keep the base itself for text or icons on the lightest steps.
Why tints can look chalky
Adding white lowers saturation as well as raising lightness, so pale tints can look milky, and blues in particular can drift toward lavender. If a light step looks off, try a slightly more saturated base, or set the lightness directly in the color converter and compare. Dark text on a tint passes contrast more easily as the tint gets lighter; check the pair you use in the contrast checker.
How to use it
- Enter valid #RGB or #RRGGBB values and any requested percentage.
- Run the fixed browser-local color operation.
- Review the swatches and copy the result or palette values.
Privacy & limitations
Color values stay on this device. Contrast output is a mathematical checker, not a blanket WCAG compliance guarantee; context, font rendering, non-text contrast, and user interface states still need review.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Tint Generator work?
It uses Tint = color × (1 − amount) + white × amount.
Which HEX formats are accepted?
Use three-digit #RGB or six-digit #RRGGBB sRGB notation. Alpha channels and named colors are not accepted.
Does the contrast result guarantee accessibility compliance?
No. It is a mathematical contrast checker for the reported colors and text thresholds, not a blanket compliance guarantee.
