Runs entirely in your browser
Drag a face-up card or sequence onto a pile, or select it then click a destination. Tab and Enter work for both steps. Double-click a top card or use Move to foundation for an automatic legal move. Deals are random and may be unwinnable. Stock recycling is unlimited.
Rules and strategy
Build tableau sequences down by rank in alternating colours; hearts and diamonds are red, spades and clubs black. Only kings or sequences headed by a king can move to an empty column. Foundations build up in suit from ace to king.
Prioritise exposing face-down cards. Before emptying a column, check whether you have a king to fill it. Moving every available card to a foundation immediately can remove a card you need to organise a column; you may move it back here.
History
Single-player card games are called patience in Britain and solitaire in North America. Printed collections predate computer games: Lady Cadogan's Illustrated Games of Solitaire or Patience, in its 1914 edition, documents many such games. Public-domain edition at Project Gutenberg: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/21642. Klondike later became widely familiar through desktop software. Pagat explains that spread in its history of card solitaire: https://www.pagat.com/solitaire/card.html.
Card artwork
Cards are drawn with original CSS, ranks and Unicode suit symbols. No photographed, scanned or proprietary card images are used. This is an independent Klondike implementation.

Frequently asked questions
Are the deals guaranteed to be solvable?
No. Deals are random. Some will be unwinnable even with careful play.
How does draw 3 work?
Up to three stock cards move to the waste. Only its top card is playable; removing it exposes the next card. Once the stock is empty, recycle the remaining waste without shuffling its order.
How do I play without dragging?
Click or tap a face-up card, then click its destination column or foundation. Tab and Enter do the same. Selecting a card in a column selects the valid face-up sequence below it.
Does Move to foundation finish the whole game?
It moves one legal top card from the waste or a column to its suit foundation. Repeat as needed, or double-click a top card. Undo can reverse the move.
