Shift Schedule Maker (Weekly Staff Rota)

Plan a week of shifts: list your staff, set up shifts with start and end times and unpaid breaks, pick a shift for each person and day, and see each person's hours; print it or download a CSV.

Shift Schedule Maker (Weekly Staff Rota): Each shift's hours are the time from start to end, less the unpaid break; a shift that ends before it starts, such as 22:00 to 06:00, runs past midnight. The hours for each person are added across the week. The rota, the staff list, and the shifts are kept in your browser for next time. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Shifts

Name, start, end, and unpaid break in minutes. A shift ending before it starts runs past midnight.

Pick a shift for each person and day; the hours add up on the right, less unpaid breaks. The schedule is saved only in this browser, so print it or download the CSV to share it.

A worked example

An early shift from 06:00 to 14:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break counts 7.5 hours; a night shift from 22:00 to 06:00 with the same break also counts 7.5. Five early shifts in a week add up to 37.5 hours.

Check the totals against each person's contract and the rest rules where you work, such as a minimum gap between shifts.

Sharing the rota

Print it for the staff room, or download the CSV and open it in a spreadsheet to send round or keep with payroll. The rota is kept in this browser, so next week starts from the same staff and shifts.

For a recurring weekly plan of lessons or meetings, the timetable maker prints a grid by time of day.

How to use it

  1. List your staff, one per line, and adjust the shifts and their times.
  2. Choose the week, then pick a shift or Off for each person and day.
  3. Check the hours per person, then print the rota or download it as a CSV.

Privacy & limitations

The rota stays in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
