Schengen Calculator: 90/180-Day Rule, Days Left, and Next Entry
Enter your past and planned trips to the Schengen area and check the 90/180-day rule: how many days you have used on any date, the longest stay from a planned entry and the day you must leave by, and the earliest date you can come back for a stay of the length you want.
Schengen Calculator: 90/180-Day Rule, Days Left, and Next Entry: For each day, the calculator counts the days you were in the area in the 180 days ending that day, entry and exit days included, and allows no more than 90. After a stay from 1 January to 31 March 2026, which is 90 days, no entry is possible until 30 June, when 1 January falls out of the window; from then on, a new day can be added for each old one that drops out. Short stays in the Schengen area are limited to 90 days in any 180-day period. On any day, count back 180 days, that day included: no more than 90 of them may be spent in the area, and the days of entry and exit both count. Your trips are saved in this browser only. This is a guide; border officers decide, and long-stay visas and residence permits follow other rules.
The rule
Since 18 October 2013, the 180-day period moves with each day you check: look back 180 days, that day included, and count the days you spent in the area. Bulgaria and Romania have been full members since 1 January 2025, so their days count together with the rest; Cyprus, in the EU but not yet in the Schengen area, counts its own 90 days separately.
Counting other dates
For the number of days between any two dates, use the date difference calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Do the entry and exit days count?
Yes: any part of a day in the Schengen area counts as a whole day, so a trip from Monday to Friday is five days.
Does a visa-free stay in one country reset the count in another?
No: all Schengen countries share one count, so days in France, Germany, or Spain all add up together.
Does this apply to residents?
No: the rule is for short stays; days spent on a long-stay visa or residence permit of a Schengen country do not count toward it.
