Photo Filters

Apply filters to a photo, black and white, sepia, vintage, noir, warm, cool, vivid, or faded, set their strength, adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and warmth, and compare with the original.

Photo Filters: Each filter changes the colour of every pixel: black and white and sepia use the colour matrices of the CSS Filter Effects standard, the same formulas browsers use, while vintage and noir add a soft vignette that darkens the corners. Strength blends the filtered photo with the original, and the adjustments run on top. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Photos are edited in your browser and never uploaded. Black and white and sepia use the same colour formulas as the CSS filters in web browsers.

Choosing a filter

Black and white suits portraits and strong shapes; sepia and vintage give a warm, old-print look; warm flatters skin and sunsets, cool suits snow, sea, and city scenes; vivid lifts dull, overcast photos. A strength of 50–70% often looks more natural than 100%.

To fix the size or framing first, use crop image; to shrink the file for sharing, the image compressor.

Adjustments

Brightness moves every tone up or down, contrast spreads them apart, saturation strengthens or weakens colour, and warmth shifts towards orange or blue. Small changes, under 20, usually look best.

How to use it

  1. Choose a photo.
  2. Pick a filter, set its strength, and fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation, and warmth.
  3. Press and hold the photo to compare with the original, then download JPG or PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Why does black and white look flat?

Converting colours to grey can make different colours the same shade; add contrast, or try Noir, which raises contrast and adds a vignette.

Will the photo lose quality?

JPG is saved at high quality and PNG without loss; very large photos are scaled to 2,400 pixels on the long side.

Is the photo's location data kept?

No: the downloaded image is drawn fresh, so camera details and GPS location are not copied into it.
