Duotone Effect
Apply a two-colour gradient map to a photo. Choose a preset or your own shadow and highlight colours, add a middle colour for tritone, then export PNG or JPG.
Duotone Effect: Converts the photo to brightness and interpolates between the selected colours. Tritone places the middle colour at halfway brightness. PNG preserves transparency; JPG uses a white background. Both exports fit within 1200 by 1200 pixels. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Gradient mapping
Brightness from zero to one selects a point on the shadow-to-highlight gradient. Tritone uses two linear segments joined at brightness 0.5. Interpolation uses the selected sRGB channel values.
Brightness
The brightness weights are 0.2126 red + 0.7152 green + 0.0722 blue, applied to image channel values for a photo-effect gradient map. Colour background: https://www.w3.org/Graphics/Color/sRGB

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between duotone and tritone?
Duotone interpolates between two endpoint colours. Tritone adds a third colour at halfway brightness.
Will my image transparency survive?
PNG keeps the original alpha channel. JPG flattens transparent areas onto white.
Can I choose my own colours?
Yes. Change either endpoint colour and, with tritone enabled, the middle colour. The preview updates immediately.
