Math Worksheet Generator

Make printable arithmetic worksheets with an answer key: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with your number range, the number of problems, and carrying or borrowing on or off.

Math Worksheet Generator: Problems are drawn at random from a numbered seed, so the same seed and settings always give the same sheet; the link includes both. Subtraction never goes below zero, division always comes out whole, and the carrying setting is checked column by column for every addition and subtraction. Building a useful sheet

Practice works best on one skill at a time. Early addition with numbers to 10 or 20 builds number facts; two-digit sums without carrying come next, then sums that always carry, to practise exactly that step. Subtraction follows the same path with borrowing. The carrying setting checks every column, so 25 + 14 counts as no carrying while 25 + 17 does.

Times tables are practised one table at a time: pick a table and every multiplication on the sheet uses it, with the other factor drawn from the range. Division can use the same table, so 7 becomes the divisor and every answer is a whole number.

Answer keys and links

Each sheet has a number, shown in its corner, and the problems follow from that number and the settings. The copied link carries both, so the same sheet, with the same answer key, can be printed again or opened on another device; New problems draws a new number.

To mark the results, the test grade calculator turns mistakes into a percentage and prints a grading chart for the whole class.

How to use it

  1. Choose the operations, the smallest and largest numbers, and how many problems.
  2. Decide on carrying and borrowing, and whether problems sit in a row or in columns.
  3. Print the worksheet and the answers, or copy a link that recreates the same sheet.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print the same worksheet again later?

Yes. Copy the link to the sheet: it holds the sheet number and the settings, and opens exactly the same problems, answers included, on any device.

What does carrying and borrowing mean here?

Carrying is when a column of an addition adds up to 10 or more, as in 27 + 15; borrowing is when a subtraction needs to take from the next column, as in 42 − 17. Choose None for early practice, or In every problem to practise exactly that step.

How do I make times tables practice?

Choose Multiplication, set the numbers from 1 to 10 or 12, and pick a times table, such as 7: every problem then has 7 as one factor. With Division too, 7 becomes the divisor, as in 56 ÷ 7.

Why does division use the range differently?

So every answer is a whole number. The range sets the divisor and the answer, and the number being divided is their product, as in 56 ÷ 7 = 8.
