Schema Markup Generator (JSON-LD)

Fill in a form and get JSON-LD structured data for FAQs, how-tos, products, organisations, local businesses, articles, and events, checked against Google's required properties.

Schema Markup Generator (JSON-LD): Structured data tells search engines what a page is about in a fixed vocabulary, schema.org, so they can show it as a rich result: prices and ratings under a product, dates and a venue for an event, opening hours for a shop. The generator writes it as JSON-LD, the format Google recommends, and checks the properties Google lists as required or recommended for each type. Dates with a time get your time zone offset, and text that could end the script early is escaped. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Since 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites. The markup is still valid, and other search engines and AI tools read it.

Question 1
Question 2

No problems found. Paste the code into the page's HTML, in the head or the body.

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": [
    {
      "@type": "Question",
      "name": "How long does delivery take?",
      "acceptedAnswer": {
        "@type": "Answer",
        "text": "Orders arrive in two to four working days."
      }
    },
    {
      "@type": "Question",
      "name": "Can I return an item?",
      "acceptedAnswer": {
        "@type": "Answer",
        "text": "Yes, within 30 days, unused and in its original packaging."
      }
    }
  ]
}
</script>

Which type to use

Use the type that matches what the page is mainly about: Product for a page selling one item, LocalBusiness for a shop or office with a street address, Organization for a company's home or about page, Article for news and blog posts, and Event for something that happens at a set time and place. One page can carry several blocks, each in its own script tag.

After publishing, check the live page with the schema checker, and that its title and description read well with the meta tag checker.

Rules Google applies

The markup must describe content people can see on the page; marking up hidden or misleading content, or reviews you wrote yourself, can lead to a manual action that removes rich results from the whole site.

How to use it

  1. Choose the type of page: FAQ, how-to, product, organisation, local business, article, or event.
  2. Fill in the fields; empty ones are left out of the code.
  3. Fix any errors listed, copy the code into the page's HTML, and test the live page with Google's Rich Results Test.

Privacy & limitations

Everything is built in your browser; the form is saved on this device so you can come back to it.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I put the code?

Anywhere in the page's HTML, in the head or the body. Content management systems usually have a field or plugin for custom code in the head; the markup must describe what is visible on that same page.

Does structured data improve rankings?

Not directly. It makes a page eligible for rich results, which can earn more clicks, and helps search engines and AI tools understand the page. Google decides whether to show a rich result.

Why does my FAQ not show in Google?

Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites, and no longer shows how-to rich results at all. The markup is still valid and read by other search engines.
