Sample Product Generator
Generate synthetic catalog products and SKUs.
Sample Product Generator: Build a small synthetic catalogue for product grids, stock badges and import experiments. Sample Product Generator returns JSON with TEST IDs, SKUs, invented product names, numeric prices and an in-stock flag. It offers display fixtures rather than real inventory, market prices or a commerce platform’s complete product schema. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Fictional result
WaitingFictional test fixtures only. Do not use these generated identities, addresses, or IDs as real records.
Price formula and possible first product
Let i be the zero-based row position and u a randomly selected whole number from 0 through 995. Price = 5 + u/100, rendered as a JSON number rounded to two decimal places; inStock is true when i modulo 3 is not zero. With Rows = 1, u = 0 and the first product name selected, the object is {"id":"PRODUCT-TEST-0001","sku":"SKU-TEST-0001","name":"Imaginary Widget","price":5,"inStock":false}. The price calculation is 5 + 0/100 = 5, and index 0 gives false. Other draws may change the product name and price.
Testing a catalogue rather than its economics
Load a saved batch into a sandbox, assert that the number of cards matches Rows, and check that unavailable products have the intended badge or button state. Add variants, images, long descriptions and zero-price cases yourself, because those fields are absent. JSON’s number model is described in RFC 8259 (https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc8259); prices here are JavaScript Numbers, not an exact decimal-money type. Use integer minor units or a decimal representation for financial assertions. One to 100 rows are supported, and none contains contact or network destinations. JSON to CSV and CSV to SQL can prepare the saved records for a test-table import.
How to use it
- Choose a whole row count from 1 to 100.
- Generate a synthetic batch in your browser.
- Copy or download the fixture and save it for repeatable tests.
Privacy & limitations
Generation stays on this device. The records are fictional test fixtures; review and isolate the application that consumes them.

Frequently asked questions
Are the prices tied to a currency or realistic products?
No currency field is supplied. Prices are small generated amounts between 5 and 14.95 inclusive, unrelated to actual goods. Give your test a chosen currency and formatting rule explicitly. These figures are unsuitable for market comparisons, valuation or expectations about real catalogue pricing.
Why is the first product always out of stock?
Stock state follows position: indices 0, 3, 6 and so on are false, and other indices are true. It is not a random inventory level. This lets a three-row batch exercise both states, but it does not test stock quantities, reservations or replenishment.
Can I reuse the SKUs as database keys across batches?
Within a batch, each SKU has a distinct four-digit row suffix. Every new generation restarts at SKU-TEST-0001, so importing twice may collide. Product names also repeat. Clear the test table or add a batch namespace, and use the SKU rather than the name to join records.
