Remove White Background: Make White Transparent (PNG)
Turn the white or plain-coloured background of a logo, signature, drawing, or product photo transparent, with tolerance and edge softness controls, and download a transparent PNG. Faster and more exact than AI cut-outs for flat backgrounds.
Remove White Background: Make White Transparent (PNG): Each pixel's distance from the background colour is measured in RGB. Pixels within the tolerance become fully transparent, and those slightly further away fade out over the edge softness, which keeps anti-aliased outlines smooth. The colour at the edges is found as the most common colour along the image border. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

0% of the pixels removed
Every pixel close enough to the chosen colour becomes transparent, and pixels a little further away fade out, so anti-aliased edges stay smooth. It suits logos, signatures, scanned drawings, and product shots on a plain background; for people or busy backgrounds, use the AI background remover. Raise the tolerance if a halo remains, and lower it if parts of the subject disappear. The result is a PNG with transparency.
When to use which tool
Colour removal is exact for flat backgrounds: scanned signatures, logos, and drawings on white. For photos of people or objects on varied backgrounds, the AI background remover finds the subject instead.
Signatures
A signature photographed on paper usually has a grey, uneven background: choose the colour at the edges and raise the tolerance until the paper disappears. To draw a signature instead, use the signature generator.
How to use it
- Choose the image.
- Remove white, the colour at the edges, or a colour you pick, and set the tolerance.
- Check the checkerboard preview and download the PNG.

Frequently asked questions
Why is there a white halo around my logo?
The edge pixels are a mix of the logo and the white; raise the tolerance or edge softness to fade them out.
Why did parts of my image disappear?
Areas inside the subject that are close to white are removed too. Lower the tolerance, or use the AI background remover, which looks at shapes rather than colours.
Can I remove a green or grey background?
Yes: choose the colour at the edges, or pick the colour yourself.
