Text / Notes
Online Notepad
A simple notepad that saves as you type, with several notes, a word count, and downloads as .txt or Markdown. Nothing to sign up for; notes stay in your browser.
Online Notepad: The notepad keeps your notes in your browser's local storage, which stays on this device and is never sent anywhere. Each note shows its word, character, and line count, and the list puts the most recently edited first. If the browser refuses to save, for example because storage is full or blocked, the page says so. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Runs entirely in your browser
Notes are stored only in this browser on this device, not online. They are lost if you clear your browsing data or use a private window, so download anything you need to keep.
A scratchpad that stays put
The notepad suits the notes you would otherwise lose in an unsaved tab: a draft reply, a list for later, numbers copied from one place to another. It opens instantly, needs no account, and keeps going offline once loaded.
Because notes live in this browser only, treat it as a scratchpad rather than an archive. Download anything worth keeping; .md files open in most note apps. To check the length of a draft against a limit, the word counter gives reading time too, and the Markdown preview shows formatted text.
Hearing it back
Reading a draft aloud catches clumsy sentences that silent reading misses. Paste it into text to speech to hear it in your device's voices.
How to use it
- Start typing; each change is saved in this browser at once.
- Use New note for another note, and pick notes from the list; the first line becomes the title.
- Download a note as .txt or .md, or copy it, to keep it elsewhere.
Privacy & limitations
Notes are stored only in this browser on this device. They are not uploaded, synced, or backed up, and they disappear if you clear browsing data or use a private window.

Frequently asked questions
Where are my notes saved?
In your browser's local storage on this device. They are still there after closing the tab or restarting, but not in another browser, on another device, or after clearing browsing data. Download anything important.
Can anyone else read my notes?
Nothing is sent to a server, so not over the internet. Anyone using this browser profile on this device could open the page and see them, so avoid it for passwords or secrets on a shared computer.
Is there a size limit?
Browsers usually allow about 5 MB of local storage for a site, millions of characters of text. If a note grows past what the browser will store, the page warns you that the latest change was not saved.
What is the .md download?
Markdown, plain text with simple formatting such as # for headings and * for lists, which many note apps, GitHub, and documentation tools read. To see it formatted, paste it into the Markdown preview.
