Checking MP4 recording support…

Conversion re-records the video at playback speed and keeps its dimensions and soundtrack. Keep this tab in the foreground. It is not a lossless remux; frame rate, colour and quality may change.

Recording support

The browser reports supported recording types before conversion. A supported type is not a guarantee that every recording will succeed; device resources and source decoding still matter. W3C MediaStream Recording specification: https://www.w3.org/TR/mediastream-recording/ .

Result checks

Keep the tab in the foreground during conversion, then check the picture, sound and duration. The output uses MP4 only. This conversion keeps dimensions but does not preserve the original container metadata or guarantee identical colour and timing.

How to use it

  1. Check that MP4 recording is supported and choose a MOV file.
  2. Preview the source video, then start conversion and keep the tab visible.
  3. Play the result and download the MP4.

Privacy & limitations

The video stays in your browser. Files are limited to 250 MB and a decoded image area of 8,294,400 pixels. Browser codec support determines which MOV files can be opened.

Frequently asked questions

Why is conversion disabled in my browser?

The browser must support MP4 recording. If it does not, this tool stops instead of returning a WebM file with an MP4 extension.

Is this lossless or instant?

No. The source plays while the browser re-records it. Expect roughly the video duration and possible changes in quality or frame rate.

Can I convert any QuickTime codec?

No. The source must play in this browser. Professional, protected or unsupported MOV codecs may require another export from the source application.
