HEIC to PDF: Convert Locally in Your Browser

Turn HEIC or HEIF photos into PDF pages with local decoding. Choose fitting and combine several still photographs into one document.

HEIC to PDF: Convert Locally in Your Browser: Decodes HEIC and HEIF photographs locally to PNG pictures and embeds those pictures as PDF pages. This is useful for sharing phone photos of receipts, notes and paperwork in a document format. Choose fit to A4 or actual-size pages. Only the first image of an image sequence is used. Depth maps, motion, HDR information and camera metadata are not retained, and some codecs may be unsupported. Text in photographs does not become searchable text. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Document formats

Office Open XML defines DOCX and XLSX packaging, relationships, text and worksheets. The ECMA-376 catalogue (https://ecma-international.org/publications-and-standards/standards/ecma-376/) describes the format family. PDF page content is specified by ISO 32000; the ISO catalogue (https://www.iso.org/standard/75839.html) identifies the standard. These conversions rebuild useful content rather than guaranteeing an identical layout.

Conversion libraries

PDF creation uses pdf-lib (MIT; https://pdf-lib.js.org/docs/api/), and PDF reading and rendering use PDF.js (Apache 2.0; https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/). Both run locally in this tool. No document upload is required.

HEIC decoding uses the bundled heic2any and libheif decoder. The project documentation (https://github.com/alexcorvi/heic2any) describes browser decoding and metadata limits. The existing dependency licences remain applicable.

How to use it

  1. Choose one or more HEIC or HEIF photographs.
  2. Choose page fitting and check the selected file order.
  3. Build the PDF and download it. If decoding fails, save the photo as PNG first.
