Gantt Chart Maker: Tasks, Dependencies and Milestones

Build a Gantt chart from a task table or CSV. Show progress, groups, dependency arrows, milestones, weekends and today, with day, week or month scales.

Gantt Chart Maker: Tasks, Dependencies and Milestones: Enter tasks with start dates and either an end date or a number of days, group them and set dependencies, and see a Gantt chart with a today marker and milestones. Import or export tasks as CSV and download the chart as SVG or PNG or print it. It draws the plan you enter; it does not reschedule tasks for you. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

An end date includes that whole day and takes priority over duration. A duration of zero creates a milestone. Dependencies draw arrows and order rows within each group; they do not change dates.

Date conventions

Dates use YYYY-MM-DD. The end date is included as a full day, so a task from 1 to 3 March lasts three days. A duration counts calendar days, weekends included. A task with zero days is a milestone, drawn as a diamond on its start date.

CSV interchange

The CSV import handles quoted cells, and the export writes comma-separated UTF-8 text, quoting embedded commas, quotes and newlines. The downloadable file begins with a UTF-8 byte-order mark. CSV reference: https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc4180

How to use it

  1. Enter unique task names, start dates, end dates or durations, dependencies, progress and groups.
  2. Choose a time scale and weekend shading, and resolve any dependency errors.
  3. Download SVG, PNG or CSV, or print the chart.

Privacy & limitations

Tasks and imported CSV stay in your browser. No schedule is uploaded or saved to local storage.

Frequently asked questions

Does an end date include that day?

Yes. A task starting and ending on the same date lasts one day. If both end date and duration are filled, the end date takes priority.

Do dependencies move tasks?

No. Dates are manual. Missing tasks and dependency cycles produce a message instead of a chart.

What are the limits?

Up to 200 tasks, with an overall date span of at most 3,660 days. Weekends are shaded, not excluded from durations. CSV headers are name, start, end, duration, dependency, progress and group.

Which date marks today?

The browser's local calendar date supplies today; date arithmetic itself uses UTC day numbers to avoid daylight-saving offsets.
