Online drawing pad
A simple drawing pad for quick sketches on a phone, tablet or computer. Choose a brush and colour, undo a stroke and save your drawing without uploading it.
Online drawing pad: A portrait drawing space with two tools, for sketching an idea before it disappears. Use it to jot down a floor-plan idea, practise handwriting, explain a route or scribble a small character on a phone. Brush starts at six pixels and offers round, square and spray tips. Choose a size from 1 to 100; a pressure-sensitive pen can vary that size while you draw. Eraser uses the secondary colour on the white canvas. Enable Transparent background to erase to clear pixels instead. The palette has 28 colours, and the custom colour picker can add another swatch. Primary is the normal drawing colour; select Secondary to set an eraser colour or use right click while drawing with a mouse. Undo and redo let you revise at least 50 edits during a visit. Zoom changes the view without changing the saved picture. The canvas starts at 320 × 440 pixels, which keeps a portrait sketch compact on a small screen. Its draft is separate from the full editor, so switching tools does not overwrite the other drawing. Save a PNG for a crisp doodle with transparency, a JPG for a white background, a WebP for a compressed image, or a BMP for uncompressed colour. For text, shapes, selections, picture imports or a bigger canvas, move to [paint online](/paint-online). For cropping an existing picture, use [crop image](/crop-image); for exact output dimensions, use the [image resizer](/image-resizer). Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Use Command instead of Ctrl on macOS. Brush draws colour, eraser removes or covers it, and New canvas clears the draft. The pad has its own useful default: a portrait canvas and a six-pixel brush.
MDN's Pointer Events guide (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Pointer_events) describes mouse, touch and pen input, including pressure. Drawing requires no external assets or account.
Image files and saved drafts
The HTML canvas specification (https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/canvas.html) describes browser drawing and image export. The HTML canvas guide on MDN (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Canvas_API) explains pixel-based images.
IndexedDB stores the current sketch on your device; MDN documents it at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/IndexedDB_API . Browser settings and private browsing can limit persistence, so save a downloaded file to keep your work.
How to use it
- Choose a colour and brush size. The portrait canvas is ready for a quick sketch.
- Draw with your finger, pen or mouse. Switch to the eraser or undo a stroke to correct it.
- Choose PNG, JPG, WebP or BMP and save the finished drawing.
Privacy & limitations
Drawing stays in this browser. Nothing is uploaded. Your latest sketch is autosaved in IndexedDB on this device. New canvas resets the pad's saved draft and undo history. Download important sketches before clearing browser storage.

Frequently asked questions
Can I draw with my finger or a stylus?
Yes. Drag within the canvas to draw; scroll outside it to move around the page. Pen pressure changes brush size when your stylus and browser supply pressure. Use the zoom controls for small details.
How do I start again without losing the finished sketch?
Save the image first, then choose New canvas. The pad starts fresh at 320 × 440 pixels and replaces its stored draft. Undo history is cleared by New canvas and by a reload.
Where are text, shapes and image opening?
This pad keeps brush, eraser, colours, undo and save close at hand for quick phone sketches. The full paint editor adds pencil, fill, colour picker, text, shapes, selection editing, image opening and transforms. Its saved draft is independent of this pad.
