Christmas Card Maker

Design a printable Christmas or New Year card: pick a design or use your own photo, write the greeting and message, and download a print-quality PDF or image in 5 × 7 in, A6, or A5.

Christmas Card Maker: The card is drawn in your browser at 300 dots per inch, the usual print resolution, so text and decorations stay sharp. Every design is drawn from simple shapes on the page itself, so there is no third-party artwork to worry about; a photo fills the card behind a dark band that keeps the text readable. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Runs entirely in your browser

The card is drawn in your browser at print quality (300 dpi); your photo is never uploaded. Print on card stock at 100% and trim to size.

Printing a card that looks finished

Card stock of around 200 to 300 g/m² holds its shape; many home printers take card up to about 200 g/m² through the rear or manual feed; check the printer's manual. Print at actual size and trim with a ruler and craft knife, or a paper trimmer, cutting just inside the edge of the design so no white line shows. For a folded card, glue the printed front onto a folded blank card.

Photos print best when they are sharp at the card's size: a phone photo is plenty for 5 × 7 inches. Faces near the top of the photo stay clear of the dark band where the text sits.

Envelopes and sizes

A 5 × 7 inch card goes in an A7 envelope (5¼ × 7¼ inches), the usual size for greeting cards in North America. Elsewhere, A6 cards fit C6 envelopes and A5 cards C5 envelopes. Check the postal rate for heavier or square cards before buying stamps.

To plan the presents that go with the cards, the gift budget planner keeps the spending in check; to count down the days, make an advent calendar.

Frequently asked questions

How do I print the card?

Download the PDF, which is exactly the card's size, and print it on card stock at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page. Or use Print, which places the card at true size on an A4 or Letter sheet for trimming.

Which size should I choose?

5 × 7 inches is the common card size in the US and fits a standard A7 envelope; A6 fits a C6 envelope, and A5 a C5.

Can I send it by email or message instead?

Yes. Download the image (PNG) and attach it to an email or a message, or post it.

Can I write in other languages?

Yes. The greeting and message take any text. The script lettering covers Latin alphabets; for Japanese, Chinese, or other scripts choose IBM Plex Serif or let the browser's fonts fill in.
