Convert AVIF to PNG for free: get a lossless PNG with transparency kept. Conversion runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
AVIF to PNG Converter (Free, Keeps Transparency): Convert AVIF to PNG when an editor, document app or upload form cannot open AVIF. TOEA uses your browser to decode the image and saves the rendered pixels as PNG, keeping transparency. Your browser must be able to decode that AVIF file; there is no alternative decoder here. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Compatibility and transparency
Use PNG when your image editor, document app or upload form cannot accept AVIF. PNG keeps transparent areas and does not add lossy compression to the rendered pixels. It will often be much larger than the source, especially for a photograph.
Transparency is preserved, not created: a solid background stays solid. For a photograph that does not need transparency, JPG may be a smaller compatibility option.
Decoding depends on your browser
The AVIF must open with your browser's image decoder before it can be converted. If decoding fails, the tool cannot continue; there is no fallback AVIF decoder. Try an updated browser that supports the file, or check that the source is valid.
The PNG contains the browser-rendered image, not a copy of the AVIF's compressed data or metadata. HDR, wide-gamut colour and higher bit depths may change during rendering, so compare the colours if they matter for your use.
How to use it
- Choose an AVIF file.
- Convert it locally.
- Preview and download the PNG.
Privacy & limitations
Processing is local. PNG is lossless and will usually be considerably larger than the AVIF it came from.

Frequently asked questions
Why convert AVIF to PNG?
PNG is accepted by many editors, document apps and upload forms that do not accept AVIF. It also supports transparency. Expect a larger file, especially for photographs.
Does it keep transparency?
Yes. Transparent pixels stay transparent in the PNG. Conversion does not remove a solid background or restore detail already lost in the source.
Why will my AVIF not open?
The tool relies on your browser's image decoder. If it cannot decode this file, conversion cannot start. Try an updated browser with AVIF decoding support, or check the source file in another image app.
