Zodiac signs are twelve equal 30° divisions measured from the equinox, not the unequal astronomical constellations. Transits describe where planets are; traditional house themes are cultural associations, not measured effects.
Transits and traditional house themes
A transit is a body's current passage through a zodiac sign or house, or its angular relationship to another body. Whole-sign houses here count from the selected sign, the convention used by sun-sign columns. These are twelve equal tropical signs measured from the equinox, rather than the unequal constellations.
The brief house themes summarise traditional Western associations, such as home for the 4th house and creativity for the 5th. William Lilly's Christian Astrology (1647), Book I, describes the twelve houses in an early modern tradition. This public-domain historical work supplies cultural context, not scientific evidence of effects. Astrology is a cultural and entertainment practice; this page makes no predictions.
Computation and accuracy
Astronomy Engine by Don Cross (https://github.com/cosinekitty/astronomy), licensed under MIT, supplies the astronomical calculations. Planetary longitudes are apparent and geocentric, measured in the tropical zodiac. Jean Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms, second edition (1998), is a standard reference for astronomical time, coordinates and lunar and planetary calculations.
The ten bodies are checked against twelve Swiss Ephemeris 2.10 reference instants, with longitude differences no greater than 0.02° in those tests. Swiss Ephemeris reference data is used only for testing; its implementation is not included. The search brackets events and narrows crossing times to below a minute. These checks do not establish a universal error bound across 1900–2100.
Today's positions refresh each minute. Other dates use the elapsed midpoint of the local day. Lunar illumination also uses that midpoint; the phase name follows a principal phase when one occurs during the local day. The next new and full moon are measured from the displayed position time. Local event times include their UTC offset, so repeated clock times on a daylight-saving transition can be distinguished.
How to use it

Frequently asked questions
What sign is the Moon in today?
The Moon panel shows its tropical zodiac sign and degree at the displayed position time. It also shows the signs at the start and end of your local day, and the local time of any sign change. The Moon moves through the zodiac quickly, so the answer can change during the day.
How is this different from a horoscope?
A horoscope usually turns planetary positions into personal predictions or advice. This page shows the computed astronomical positions and transits, with short traditional themes for context. It does not generate daily predictions. Astrology is a cultural and entertainment practice.
What are whole-sign houses?
Whole-sign houses divide the zodiac into twelve houses, one entire sign per house. Here, your selected sign is the 1st house and each following sign is the next house. This is the convention used in sun-sign columns. For example, Sagittarius is the 5th house from Leo. A timed birth chart normally starts from the rising sign instead.
What is an aspect?
An aspect is an angular separation between two bodies. This page includes conjunctions at 0°, sextiles at 60°, squares at 90°, trines at 120° and oppositions at 180°. It lists aspects exact during the day or within 3° for the Moon and 2° between other bodies at the displayed position time. An exact time is when the calculated angle reaches the target.
Which time zone does today's sky use?
The page uses the time zone supplied by your browser, including daylight-saving changes. The zone and event offsets are shown beside the results. The date picker and date URL parameter select a calendar day in that same zone. A day can contain 23 or 25 hours when clocks change. A planet's position is the same geocentric position worldwide at one instant, while its local date and clock time can differ.
Is the calculation accurate?
The astronomy uses astronomy-engine for tropical, geocentric apparent longitudes. All ten bodies have been checked against Swiss Ephemeris reference positions at twelve instants, within 0.02° in those checks. Ingress and aspect times are numerically narrowed to less than a minute; this is not a guarantee of observational precision for every event or date. Traditional astrological themes are cultural associations, not scientifically established predictions.
