Autoplay and other parameters
Browsers generally allow a video to start by itself only when it is muted. With autoplay ticked, add &mute=1 to the src address if the video must start on its own; viewers can turn the sound on in the player.
Other parameters YouTube documents can be added the same way. end=120 stops playback at two minutes. loop=1 repeats a single video only when it is paired with playlist= and the same video ID. rel=0 no longer hides suggested videos at the end; since 2018 it only limits them to the same channel.
Making the player fit the page
The generated <iframe> is a fixed 560 × 315. To make it fill its column on any screen, remove the width and height attributes and give it style="width: 100%; aspect-ratio: 16 / 9; height: auto", or use a 9 / 16 ratio for a Short.
Every embedded player loads its scripts as the page loads, even if nobody presses play. Adding loading="lazy" to the <iframe> lets the browser wait until the player is about to scroll into view, which keeps pages with several videos fast. For a page listing many videos, a linked thumbnail that opens the video costs even less.
How to use it
- Paste the YouTube URL and choose embed options.
- Build the privacy-enhanced iframe.
- Preview it and copy the HTML.
Privacy & limitations
Generation is local. The preview loads YouTube only after you create it; embedding third-party media can still allow that provider to receive visitor data.

Frequently asked questions
What is privacy-enhanced mode?
It uses youtube-nocookie.com, which limits some storage until a viewer interacts, though it does not make the embed anonymous.
Why might autoplay not work?
Browsers commonly block unmuted autoplay. Site and device policies ultimately control playback.
