Chinese, Japanese and Thai use the browser's word segmenter when available. The fallback counts individual characters in those scripts. Layout is repeatable for the same seed, settings, browser and installed font. Exports use your selected local font; a different device may substitute it.
Word boundaries
Words are separated according to the language and the support available in your browser. Remove common English words, or add your own stop words to focus the cloud on a lesson.
Reading the cloud
Larger words occur more often; their size does not tell you how important or positive they are. Colours are decorative, with a colour-blind-safe palette available. Choose a rectangle for more room or a circle or heart for a shaped picture. Download an 800 × 500 SVG or a 1600 × 1000 PNG to use in a document or presentation.
How to use it
- Paste text or upload a .txt file and choose your stop words.
- Set frequency limits, shape, font, palette, orientation and seed.
- Compare the cloud with the frequency table and download SVG or a PNG at twice the preview size.

Frequently asked questions
How does it handle Chinese, Japanese or Thai?
Chinese, Japanese and Thai text is counted as words when your browser supports separating those words. Older browsers count individual characters instead. In languages with spaces between words, apostrophes within a word stay with it.
Will the same seed give the same picture?
Yes, if you keep the same text, settings, browser and font. Another browser may count words differently, and another font may change how much space they need. An SVG may look different on a device that does not have your chosen font.
Why are some words missing from the picture?
Your stop-word and frequency settings decide which words are included. If an included word has no room in the picture, you can still find it in the frequency table. Try fewer words or a rectangle for more space.
