Version 4 and version 7
A version 4 UUID, which this tool makes, is 122 random bits. That is ideal when an ID must reveal nothing, but random values scatter new rows across a database index. Version 7, standardised in 2024, starts with a timestamp so new IDs sort in creation order, which keeps inserts into large tables fast. Use v7 for database keys if your stack supports it, v4 for everything else.
Will two UUIDs ever collide?
In practice, no. You would need to generate about 2.7 quintillion version 4 UUIDs for an even chance of a single duplicate. Collisions in real systems come from broken random generators or copied values, not from chance.
The standard form is 36 characters, 32 hexadecimal digits in groups of 8-4-4-4-12, and the first digit of the third group gives the version. Comparisons should ignore letter case; storing a UUID as 16 bytes instead of text halves its size.
How to use it
- Choose how many UUIDs you need.
- Generate a fresh set.
- Copy all identifiers or download them as text.
Privacy & limitations
Generation is local and no identifiers are logged by TOEA. Random UUIDs are identifiers, not passwords or access tokens.

Frequently asked questions
Are these UUID v4 values?
Yes. The browser generates random UUIDs in the standard version 4 form.
Can a UUID be used as a secret?
No. Treat it as a unique identifier, not proof of authorization.
