Timesheet Template: Weekly Hours, Overtime, and Pay to Print

Fill in a weekly timesheet online: start and finish times and breaks for each day, with total hours, overtime by the day or the week, and gross pay at your rate and overtime multiplier, then print it with signature lines or download it as a CSV.

Timesheet Template: Weekly Hours, Overtime, and Pay to Print: Each day's hours are the finish minus the start minus the break: 9:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute break is 8 hours. Overtime counts hours above the daily limit or the weekly limit, whichever is more, and never twice: days of 9, 8, 10, 8, and 8 hours make 43 hours, 3 of them overtime. A finish time earlier than the start counts as a night shift past midnight. Overtime is counted per day or per week, whichever gives more hours, and never twice; leave a limit empty to skip it. Overtime law differs between countries and contracts, so check what applies to you.

Keeping records

Print one sheet a week and have it signed, or keep the CSV files; many employers and labour laws require records of hours worked.

Adding up times

To add or subtract hours and minutes, use the time calculator.

How to use it

  1. Enter your name and the week starting date.
  2. Fill in start, finish, and break for each day.
  3. Set the overtime limits and rate, then print or download.

Frequently asked questions

What if a shift goes past midnight?

Enter the finish time as it is, such as 06:00 after a 22:00 start; a finish earlier than the start is counted as the next morning.

Which overtime rule should I use?

It depends on your country and contract: some count overtime above 8 hours a day, others above 40 a week; leave a limit empty to ignore it.

Is the pay figure what I will be paid?

It is gross pay before tax and deductions, from the rate and multiplier you enter.
