Printable Letter Banner: Make Pennant and Bunting Letters
Print an English letter banner with one or two flags per A4 or Letter sheet. Choose triangle, rectangle or notched bunting shapes, colour themes, stripes or dots, and blank flags or small gaps between words.
Printable Letter Banner: Make Pennant and Bunting Letters: Each letter becomes a separate flag with two hole guides for string. Print one large flag or two smaller flags on each sheet. Spaces can become blank flags, or leave them out and use the printed 10 mm spacer to leave a small gap between words. The preview shows each sheet before you print. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

A letter on every flag. Choose the shapes and colours, then cut, punch and string them together.
Use up to 80 English letters, numbers, spaces or basic punctuation. Letter case is preserved. Emoji are not supported.
Cut along each flag outline and punch the two dotted hole guides. Keep the sheets in order for threading. Repeated spaces become one word break. At each word break, a small 10 mm spacer is printed below the next flag. Cut it out to measure the gap on the string, then remove it.

Preparing the print preview…
Cutting and stringing the flags
Triangle pennants taper to one point; rectangles keep a straight bottom edge; notched bunting has a V-shaped cut-out. Cut the outer outline and punch the two dotted circles near the top. Keep the printed sheets in order when threading the letters.
With gap mode, the 10 mm spacer below a flag marks a word break before that flag. Use the spacer to set the distance on the string, then remove it. Blank-flag mode prints a full empty flag instead. Previewing another sheet does not change the print order.
Lettering and print settings
Playwrite US Modern and Playwrite GB S are supplied under the SIL Open Font License. Letters fit within each shape, leaving room for hole guides and the tapered point. Two flags per sheet use smaller shapes; the last sheet may have one flag.
Print at actual size, disable browser headers and footers, and enable background graphics for the colours and patterns. For a whole message on one page, use the printable sign maker. To enlarge a finished image across sheets, use poster tiler.

Frequently asked questions
Does it print emoji?
No. Use English letters, numbers, spaces and basic punctuation. Letter case is preserved. Unsupported characters are flagged before printing.
How are spaces printed?
Choose one blank flag for each word break, or skip blank flags and leave a small gap on the string. Gap mode prints a small 10 mm spacer below the first flag of each new word. Consecutive spaces become one break.
Can I save a PDF?
Use Print all sheets / save PDF, then choose your browser’s Save as PDF destination. Choose A4 or Letter here and print at 100% with headers and footers off.
How is this different from the sign maker?
This makes separate flags for a string banner, with one character per flag. The printable sign maker fits a complete message onto one sign.
