Place Card Maker: Print and Download PDF
Turn a name list or CSV into tent-fold cards with two name faces, a font choice, border, dashed fold lines and cut marks. Preview the result, print at actual size or download a PDF in your browser.
Place Card Maker: Print and Download PDF: Lay out folded name tents for a dinner table, workshop or meeting. Enter guests one per line or paste a CSV name column, then choose the card width and its height after folding. Each flat card contains two faces with opposite text orientation so both sides can be read when the tent stands on the table. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Quote CSV names that contain commas. Cut at the outside marks and fold along each dashed line. Both faces show the name upright after folding.
Print at 100% or actual size. Match the paper size and turn off browser headers and footers.
PDF uses standard fonts. Some scripts may need browser printing for correct lettering.
How many folded cards fit?
Let w be card width, h its folded height, W and H the sheet dimensions, and m the selected margin. The flat blank is w × 2h. The layout reserves another 6 mm around the grid for cut marks. Columns = floor((W − 2(m + 6))/w); rows = floor((H − 2(m + 6))/(2h)); cards per sheet = columns × rows. Example: A4 is 210 × 297 mm. With margin 10 mm and cards 85 mm wide by 40 mm folded height, available grid space is 178 × 265 mm. Columns = floor(178/85) = 2 and rows = floor(265/80) = 3. Six cards fit per sheet, so a list of twelve guests takes two pages. The flat card is 85 × 80 mm.
Proofing the guest list before cutting
Read every name for spelling, accents and preferred form of address. Long names may need a smaller font or wider card; inspect the actual preview instead of assuming all names fit like the shortest one. A light border can clarify the edges, while the dashed line marks the fold. Keep the cards grouped by table only after checking the complete list.
The ISO 216 catalogue (https://www.iso.org/standard/36631.html) identifies the A-series paper standard. Physical lengths in SVG follow the W3C coordinate specification (https://www.w3.org/TR/SVG2/coords.html). Use actual-size printing so the dimensions of the finished tent match the controls.
How to use it
- Enter or paste the guest names and check that each name becomes one card.
- Set width, folded height, font and border, then choose paper and margins.
- Print or download the PDF, cut at the outer marks and fold each dashed centre line.

Frequently asked questions
Is the height control the size before or after folding?
It is the folded height. A card set to 40 mm tall needs an 80 mm flat blank. Cut around the outside marks and fold at the dashed centre line; the resulting two faces each measure 40 mm high.
How do I keep a comma inside one guest name?
Use a quoted CSV cell such as "Lee, Sam" if you paste CSV. Otherwise enter a plain name on its own line. Check the preview count after importing so punctuation has not accidentally split a name into multiple fields.
Why are the names rotated on one half?
The two halves meet along the fold. Rotating one printed face by 180 degrees makes both faces upright after folding. A flat preview therefore looks different from the finished tent; test one card before cutting the whole guest list.
