Military Time Converter (12-Hour ↔ 24-Hour): Hours after noon add 12: 2:30 pm is 14:30, written 1430 in military style and read as fourteen-thirty hours. 12 am, midnight, is 00:00, and 12 pm, noon, is 12:00. The 24-hour clock counts the hours of the day from 00 to 23, so 2:30 pm is 14:30; military style drops the colon and is read as fourteen-thirty hours. Midnight is 00:00 at the start of a day (12:00 AM) and is sometimes written 24:00 at the end of one; noon is 12:00 (12:00 PM).
Common conversions
1 pm = 1300, 3 pm = 1500, 6 pm = 1800, 9 pm = 2100, and 11:59 pm = 2359. 12:30 am = 0030.

Where the 24-hour clock is used
Most of the world writes times in 24-hour form in timetables and official documents; the 12-hour clock with AM and PM is common in everyday speech in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere. Militaries, hospitals, and aviation use 24-hour time to avoid confusing morning and evening.
