Reading the link attributes
rel="nofollow" asks search engines not to pass credit through a link. Google also recognises rel="sponsored" for paid and affiliate links and rel="ugc" for links in comments and forum posts, and treats all three as hints. Paid links without one of these values break Google's spam policies, so the nofollow count is a quick check on a page with sponsored content.
Using the inventory
The internal count shows how well a page connects to the rest of the site: an important article with only navigation links pointing onward misses a chance to send readers and crawlers deeper. The external list shows every site a page vouches for, which is worth reviewing on old pages, since domains expire and change hands. Pass the list to the broken link checker to test the first 20 links for failures.
How to use it
- Enter a public page URL.
- Choose Extract links.
