Brick Mosaic Maker

Turn a photo into a brick mosaic. Choose its width and height in studs, reduce the colours, then download a PNG and a printable build guide for each section.

Brick Mosaic Maker: Centre-crops the photo to your chosen grid and maps the pixels to a generic brick palette. Each cell uses one 1 by 1 part. Build-guide pages cover sections of up to 32 by 32 studs, labelled with row and column coordinates, a local parts list and a complete legend. Palette and licence

The sixteen original generic brick swatches are dedicated under CC0 1.0: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ They contain no brand names or scraped catalogue data.

Build counts

Total parts = width × height. Each colour count is the number of grid cells assigned that colour. Section guides use overall coordinates to help join neighbouring sections.

How to use it

  1. Choose a photo and mosaic dimensions.
  2. Set the maximum colours and compare the live mosaic.

Frequently asked questions

Does this use a particular brick brand?

No. It uses generic hex colours. Compare them with your own parts before buying or building.

Which parts are counted?

One 1 by 1 stud or plate per cell. Base supports, frame parts and spare pieces are not included.

Can I build a 48 × 48 mosaic?

Yes. Set both dimensions to 48. The guide divides it into four sections, with smaller sections at the right and bottom edges.
