Sorting ignores case and keeps accents meaningful. Duplicates compare complete items, including articles. Output uses one item per line.
Language and case
Ordering follows the selected language, ignores letter case and keeps accents meaningful. ECMAScript internationalisation defines language-aware collation: https://tc39.es/ecma402/#collator-objects .
List rules
Comma and space modes split at each selected delimiter; they are not CSV parsers and do not treat quoted commas specially. Blank items are removed. Duplicate removal normalises equivalent accented spellings and ignores case, while preserving the first spelling in the sorted group.
How to use it
- Paste items separated by commas, spaces or lines.
- Choose the sorting language and whether to ignore leading the, a and an.
- Optionally remove duplicates or reverse the order, then copy one item per line.

Frequently asked questions
What does ignoring articles change?
Only the sorting key changes. The original text stays in the output, and duplicate checking still compares the whole item.
How is this different from Sort Lines?
This starts with a comma-separated word list and offers article-aware ordering and a language choice. Sort Lines preserves complete lines and supports natural numeric ordering.
