What Is My Location: Your GPS Coordinates in Every Format

Find where you are from your device's location service and get the coordinates as decimal degrees, degrees, minutes, and seconds, a plus code, a geohash, and UTM, with the accuracy and altitude when available, ready to copy or open in OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, or Apple Maps.

What Is My Location: Your GPS Coordinates in Every Format: The browser asks your device for its position, from GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks, and the page converts it locally. The Eiffel Tower at 48.8584, 2.2945 is 48°51′30.24″N 2°17′40.20″E, plus code 8FW4V75V+9R6, geohash u09tunquc, and UTM 31U 448252 5411955. Runs entirely in your browser

Your device works out the position from GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks, and shares it only with this page after you allow it; the page does not send it anywhere, and the map links open only if you click them. Accuracy is the radius the device is fairly sure of: a few metres with GPS outdoors, tens to hundreds of metres from Wi-Fi or mobile networks.

Formats

Decimal degrees suit maps and apps; degrees, minutes, and seconds suit charts and paper maps; UTM gives metres east and north within a zone, handy for hiking maps.

Converting

To convert coordinates you already have, use the coordinate converter.

How to use it

  1. Press Find my location and allow location access.
  2. Read or copy the coordinates in the format you need.
  3. Open a map, or enter other coordinates to convert them.

Privacy & limitations

Your location is used in your browser only and never sent to us.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my location wrong or rough?

Without GPS, a laptop guesses from nearby Wi-Fi networks or your IP address, which can be off by a street or a city; a phone outdoors is usually accurate to a few metres.

Do you store my location?

No: the coordinates stay in this page and disappear when you close it; map links send them to the map site only if you click.

What is a plus code?

A short code for a place, such as 8FW4V75V+9R, from the open-source Open Location Code system, which works where there are no street addresses.
