GPS Speedometer Online
Your speed from GPS in km/h, mph, knots, or m/s, with the maximum, the average while moving, distance, and moving time; the screen stays on while it runs.
GPS Speedometer Online: The browser's location service reports the phone's position, and usually its speed measured by the GPS receiver itself. Where speed is not given, it is worked out from the distance between positions. Positions less accurate than 50 metres are ignored, and below about 2 km/h the phone counts as standing still, so GPS drift does not add distance. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Why GPS speed differs from the car's
Car speedometers are allowed to read high but never low, so most show a few percent more than the true speed; GPS speed is usually the closer of the two at a steady pace. Tyre wear and size also change what the car shows.
To check a route's length before you set off, use the distance calculator.
Units
One mile per hour is 1.609 km/h, and one knot, used at sea and in the air, is one nautical mile per hour: 1.852 km/h.
How to use it
- Press Start and allow location access; outdoors, a GPS position usually comes within a few seconds.
- Read your current speed; pick km/h, mph, knots, or m/s.
- Pause or reset the trip; the maximum, average, and distance count only while you are moving.
Privacy & limitations
Your positions stay in your browser; nothing is recorded or sent.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is GPS speed?
Outdoors with a clear sky, usually within 1 to 2 km/h at steady speed. It lags a second or two behind changes, and is poor in tunnels, between tall buildings, and indoors.
Can I use it in the car?
Not while driving: let a passenger hold the phone. The car's own speedometer is the one that counts; GPS speed is useful for checking it, or on a bike, a boat, or a train.
Why does it show speed when I am standing still?
GPS positions wander by a few metres. Small movements below about 2 km/h are ignored, but a weak signal can still show a little speed.
