Number Lines
Add a sequential number to every logical line, including blank lines.
Number Lines: Add a numbered label to every entry in a text block, beginning at the whole number you choose. Number Lines counts blank rows as positions and writes a full stop and space after each label. It is useful when a review needs stable references to the pasted version of a list. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Result
ReadyLine numbers count every logical line. A final newline is preserved and is not treated as an extra line.
Sequential-label formula
Let s be the starting number and i the zero-based position of a logical line L. Its label is s + i, and its output is that label followed by . and L. Input 12\n\n34\n with s = 7 has i = 0, 1, 2, producing 7. 12\n8. \n9. 34\n. Thus the blank middle entry is item 8 and the final label is 7 + 2 = 9. No arithmetic is performed on the original 12 or 34.
Stable references for reviews
Number a saved version of a checklist before sharing comments, because inserting or removing a row later shifts all following labels. LF and Windows CRLF inputs both produce LF output; standalone CR is recognised too. The Unicode collation specification (https://www.unicode.org/reports/tr10/) concerns comparison order, whereas these labels follow the supplied order without sorting. At most 10,000 lines and 100,000 input code points are accepted. Added digits count towards the 200,000-code-point result limit, so label growth can make a large request fail. The editor’s input allowance is measured in UTF-16 units, which can count an emoji twice. Use remove empty lines before numbering unwanted gaps; use sort lines before labelling a list that needs a different order.

Frequently asked questions
Can I begin numbering at zero or continue a previous list?
Yes. The starting value may be any whole number from 0 to 1,000,000. For a continuation after item 49, choose 50. That bound applies to the starting value; later labels increase with the line position and may therefore exceed 1,000,000.
Do blank lines receive numbers too?
An internal blank entry receives a label such as 8. followed by a space. A final newline does not create an additional numbered item. If blank gaps should not count, remove them before numbering; doing so afterwards leaves gaps in the numbering sequence.
Does it detect existing numbers or renumber Markdown lists?
No. Existing labels remain part of the input, so a line already starting 1. receives another label in front. The result is plain text, and Markdown renderers may interpret it as a list with their own displayed numbering. Check the copied text when exact labels matter.
