Glove Size Calculator: Hand Circumference and Length
Estimate glove size using hand circumference and hand length, with EN ISO 21420 reference dimensions and clearly labelled historical EN 420 glove lengths.
Glove Size Calculator: Hand Circumference and Length: Selects the first reference row at least as large as both hand measurements. This is a conservative tool selection rule, not an ISO certification rule. The six rows cover sizes 6–11. Generic minimum glove lengths were removed in EN ISO 21420; historical EN 420 lengths are labelled separately. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Measure around the palm below the knuckles, excluding the thumb, with your hand relaxed. Measure hand length from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger. Measure both hands and use the larger circumference and length.
| System or measurement | Result |
|---|---|
| Suggested EN ISO 21420 size | 8 |
| Hand circumference | 20.3 cm / 7.99 in |
| Hand length | 18.2 cm / 7.17 in |
| Historical EN 420 minimum glove length | 240 mm |
Approximate sizes: brands vary; measure and check the maker's chart.
Selection rule: take the first row whose hand circumference and hand length are both at least your measurements. This chooses the larger of the sizes required by the two measurements; it is a tool rule, not an ISO fit guarantee.
EN ISO 21420:2020 replaced EN 420 and removed generic minimum glove lengths. The final column shows historical EN 420 values only. Hand dimensions are reference values, not minimum glove dimensions.
| Size | Hand circumference (mm) | Hand length (mm) | EN 420 minimum glove length (mm; historical) |

Frequently asked questions
Which measurement decides the size?
Whichever requires the larger row: both circumference and length must fit within the selected reference values.
Are the listed glove lengths current requirements?
No. The 220–270 mm lengths are historical EN 420 values. EN ISO 21420:2020 removed generic minimum glove lengths; special-purpose standards can set their own requirements.
What if I am outside sizes 6–11?
The tool flags measurements below the smallest or above the largest displayed reference. It does not invent additional rows.
Does this guarantee a fit?
No. Brands vary; measure and check the maker's chart. Hand shape and glove construction also affect fit.
