Crypto Address Validator: Check Bitcoin and Ethereum Addresses

Check wallet addresses before sending: Bitcoin legacy, script, SegWit, and Taproot addresses are verified with their Base58Check, Bech32, or Bech32m checksums, and Ethereum addresses with the EIP-55 mixed-case checksum, with the network and address type shown and the correctly checksummed Ethereum form to copy.

Crypto Address Validator: Check Bitcoin and Ethereum Addresses: Bitcoin addresses starting with 1 or 3 end in four bytes of a double SHA-256 hash, and bc1 addresses carry a Bech32 checksum, Bech32m for Taproot, so a single wrong character is caught. Ethereum addresses in mixed case encode a Keccak-256 checksum in the capital letters; all-lowercase addresses are valid but unprotected. AddressResult

Bitcoin legacy and script addresses carry a SHA-256 checksum, SegWit and Taproot addresses a Bech32 or Bech32m checksum, and mixed-case Ethereum addresses an EIP-55 checksum, so most typos are caught. A valid format does not prove the address belongs to the person you mean, or that the network is right: always check the first and last characters with the recipient, and send a small test amount first. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Standards

Base58Check for legacy addresses, BIP 173 Bech32 for SegWit v0, BIP 350 Bech32m for Taproot and later versions, and EIP-55 for Ethereum checksums.

Hashes

To compute SHA-256 and other hashes of any text, use the hash generator.

How to use it

  1. Paste one or more addresses, one per line.
  2. Read whether each is valid, with its type and network.
  3. Copy the checksummed form of Ethereum addresses if needed.

Privacy & limitations

Nothing is sent anywhere; the checks run in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does a valid address mean it is safe to send?

No: it only means the address is well formed. Check that it belongs to the right person and the right network, and send a small test amount first.

Why is my all-lowercase Ethereum address valid?

Lowercase addresses are allowed but carry no checksum, so typos are not detected; the tool shows the checksummed form to use instead.

Which coins are supported?

Bitcoin mainnet, testnet, and regtest, and Ethereum and other networks using Ethereum-style addresses.
