Clothing Size Converter: Body Measurements and Size Labels

Enter body measurements in centimetres or inches. Read an EN 13402 body-dimension label, the published XS–3XL ranges for tops, and common international numbered-size conventions.

Clothing Size Converter: Body Measurements and Size Labels: Uses the measurement definitions in EN 13402-1:2001 and garment dimensions in EN 13402-2:2002. Tops use chest or bust and height; bottoms and underpants use waist and height, plus hip for women. Letter ranges come from EN 13402-3:2004. The separate numbered-size tables are common conventions for the listed garments, not measurement-based predictions. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Keep the tape level. Measure chest or bust at its fullest point, your natural waist, the fullest part of your hips, and height without shoes.

The label records body measurements, not garment dimensions or a fit guarantee. The diagram is illustrative. Bottoms and underpants use waist, plus hip for women; tops use chest or bust. Trouser fit also depends on inside-leg length. Use the bra calculator for bras.

Frequently asked questions

Will the same size fit across brands?

No. Fit depends on cut, ease, fabric and the maker's measurements. The numbered-size table is a common convention, not a standard; brands vary.

What happens at a range boundary?

This calculator assigns shared endpoints to the larger letter size. The final upper bound is included. Outside XS–3XL it shows no designation rather than extrapolating.

Can I use the letter result for underwear?

The chest and bust letter table is shown for tops only. Underpants use waist, height and, for women, hip. Bras need underbust and bust measurements; use the bra calculator.

Are these current certification labels?

The named historical EN editions explain the measurement label. This is an illustrative personal measurement record, not a product certification or a reproduction of the official pictogram.
