School / Attendance
Attendance Calculator
Work out your attendance percentage, how many classes in a row you must attend to reach a required rate such as 75%, or how many you can still miss.
Attendance Calculator: Attendance is classes attended divided by classes held. To reach the target, the calculator finds the smallest number of further classes which, all attended, bring the rate up to it; if you are already above it, it finds how many further classes you could miss while staying at or above it. With 34 of 48 classes attended (70.8%), you need 8 more in a row to reach 75%. Runs 100% locally in your browser with zero server file uploads.

Counts assume every class carries the same weight. Some schools count labs or double periods differently, or excuse absences with a certificate; check your own rules.
A worked example
You have attended 34 of 48 lectures, 70.8%, and need 75%. After attending x more, the rate is (34 + x) ÷ (48 + x); setting that to 0.75 gives x = (0.75 × 48 − 34) ÷ 0.25 = 8. So 8 more lectures in a row bring you to exactly 75%.
For other percentage sums, the percentage calculator works out any part of a whole.
Keeping on track
Check your rate early in the term, when each class still moves it noticeably; near the end, many classes are needed to change it. Keep a note of medical certificates or approved absences, which some schools exclude from the count.
How to use it
- Enter the classes you attended and the classes held so far.
- Enter the attendance your school requires, such as 75% or 80%.
- Read your rate, and either the classes needed in a row or the classes you can miss.

Frequently asked questions
Why does each class I attend raise my rate so slowly?
Each class adds to both the classes attended and the classes held, so the further you are from the target, and the more classes there have been, the more you need to catch up.
What attendance do schools require?
It varies: many universities in India require 75%, and many schools and colleges elsewhere set 80% or 90%. Check your own institution's rules and whether medical or other excused absences count.
Can I plan for the whole term?
Yes: enter the total classes in the term as held and the classes you expect to attend, to see the rate you would end on.
